Melon is a very refreshing fruit; it is composed mainly of water (about 90%), which makes it a diuretic and thirst-quenching fruit. It also has laxative power. About minerals and vitamins, it contains mainly potassium, phosphorus, calcium, vitamin C and vitamin B3. It also contains niacin, a substance with antioxidant properties. The phosphorus and calcium contained in its entirety, make the melon an excellent ally of the bones, while the betacarotene helps the organism to increase the production of melanin; the melon is therefore also a valid ally for tan lovers. It’s also a low-calorie fruit but, at the same time, being rich in fiber, allows you to easily reach the sense of satiety, all elements that make it ideal for maintaining weight-shape.
